Box office report: Inglourious Basterds take out District 9

Inglourious Basterds box office reportQuentin and Brad Pitt have no remorse for aliens as the new movie release Inglourious Basterds take out District 9 and James Cameron free movie preview of Avatar is not even on the box office radar.

The Quentin Tarantino military hit drew in nearly 38 million dollars at the box office during its first weekend. It’s good to see a director finally make a film that has been in the works for more than six years.

Quentin Tarantino mentioned his epic war movie Inglourious Basterds before Kill Bill was even released. I loved Kill Bill, so I have a feeling that I’m going to love Inglourious Basterds and the Inglourious Basterds cast. It will be interesting to see Brad Pitt no longer play the smooth character and finally get into a roughneck kind of role.

Actor Brad Pitt’s new movie may have taken out District 9 from first place at the box office but Neil Blomkamp’s new movie release is not out for the count. I guess you can say that District 9 has 9 lives. This is the Sci-fi movie’s second weekend at the box office and already it has raked in $80 million dollars.

The one movie release to stay in the top 3 is Stephen Sommers Box office action hit G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. Baroness from the Stephen Sommers box office hit seems to be the hot hit on the Internet.

That’s the box office top three for this week. Be sure to check back with Movie Hunger. I have a lot of movie reviews, movie trailers, and movie news coming up.
