Movie Review: Surviving 30 Days of Night with vampires
How would you survive 30 days of night with a gang of vampires hunting your town? Would you be terrified during those 30 days of night? Would you become the hunter during those 30 days of night and hunt the vampires? Would you come face to face with the vampires during those 30 days of night? Would you be a lure for the vampires during 30 days of night in hopes that they would keep you alive?
Not only does Sheriff Eben Oleson have to deal with a broken marriage and 30 days of night but now he has to save his townsfolk from a hungry clan of vampires who arrived on a boat just as the town saw it’s last sunset for quite a long time.
I’m suprise my husband and I survived 30 minutes of 30 days of night. My hopes were up for a great vampire flick over the weekend but they came crashing down on sharp fingernails.
Let’s first talk about the vampires of the scariness of 30 days of night. I didn’t not experience a single nervious jump out of my chair. The monster scenes in the movie Serenity were scarier than what was filmed for this movie.
I don’t blame the actors at all but blame the Director David Slade for the unscary moments in the movie. The vampires themselves are what I believe vampires are to look like in a moive. They are suppose to be these pale and snaggle tooth monsters. If I can face to face with one of the vampires in the movie, I would be screaming bloody murder. Unfortunately this is not the case for the movie.
Josh Harnett what were you thinking when you signed on to do this movie? This is an actor that I had hope for. I loved Josh Harnett playing second string to actor Harrison Ford in the movie called Hollywood Homicide. I loved him as an actor in a movie called The Black Dahlia. As a sheriff in this movie, his acting didn’t move me. I honestly had more interested in the lead vampire than in Josh Harnett.
If you must watch this movie then you must. It’s just not a horror movie or vampire movie that I would recommend. Simply because there is no thrill in this supposed thriller movie they call 30 days of night.
