The Cat’s Meow for your movie hunger

Published by cmaher under movie news Edit This

Cats Meow DVD release staring Kristen DunstToday’s Movie Hunger brings the DVD release The Cat’s Meow. Movie fans get a glimpse of the scandal of 1920’s celebrities that would put today’s stars to shame. This Steven Peros script is yet another look at the death of Film Pioneer Thomas Lance.

The Cat’s meow starts feeding your movie hunger with the rich and famous attending a funeral for a dear friend. The screen fades to happier times when W. Hearst and his lover Marion Davies invite a gaggle of celebrities onto W. Hearst ship included the Birthday Boy Thomas Lance to a celebrative weekend.

Everything is not Kosher between Marion Davies and W. Hearst as the storyline plays out.

The actors and actresses feeding your movie hunger are:
The bubbly Marion Davies is played by Kristen Dunst.
Eddie Izzard plays the narcissistic Charlie Chaplin.
Edward Herrmann plays the controlling W. Hearst.
The struggling film pioneer is played by Cary Elwes.
Joanna Lumley plays the eccentric novelist Elinor Glyn.
Jennifer Tilly plays the snoopy New York writer Lovella Parson.

All of the characters of The Cat’s Meow fed my movie hunger. Each character had their likable traits and dislikable actions. The two women that stole the show in The Cat’s Meow for Movie Hunger were Kristen Dunst and Jennifer Tilly.

Kristen Dunst is the light of the party and movie. When she has her moments on the screen a movie fan expects something entertaining to happen. Jennifer Tilly plays the role as Lovella Parson like a person would expect a gossip columnist would be. A woman that wants to chat with everyone and get the inside scoop.

The Cat’s Meow fed my movie hunger. There were some scenes that took some time to get down but they were needed to add substance to the movie. If you have a chance, pick up The Cat’s Meow staring Kristen Dunst. I have a feeling that you will enjoy it.

Twilight Cast Robert and Kristen love to rock

Published by cmaher under movie news Edit This

The Twilight saga and new moon cast members made sure they supported the music of a good friend by the name of Sage Dill. Of course I’m sure the New Moon cast members where still celebrating Robert Pattinson’s 23rd Birthday.

Departures up for being dragged to hell

Published by cmaher under movie news Edit This

Up movie poster credit Disney PixarHopefully the new movie releases this week results will be better than Memorial Day weekend. I was really expecting more from the box office last week because of the movie release of Terminator Salvation and some other big titles. Will this week be the week for Pixar and Sam Raimi new movie?

The Pixar new movie “Up” takes us on a journey of an old man that wants to see the wild of South Africa. Once on his way, the old man finds out that he his not on this journey alone. An eight-year-old Wilderness scout was swept up with the house.

The rumor following the Pixar new movie is that “Up” is actually based off of a true story. IMDB reports that Director Pete Docter told Comic-Con fans that the new movie was based off of a septuagenarian’s wish to reach the highest mountain peak of a Venezuelan mountain range.

Of course with this being said at a comic convention, I have to wonder how much of the story behind the new movie is true. We may never know if Director Pete Docter is telling the truth but the truth is that Pixar’s new movie looks like a great adventure.

The other adventure is that of Sam Raimi returning to horror films with “Drag Me To Hell”. Sam Raimi’s new movie tries to revamp the old horrible curse of an old woman. Will Sam Raimi feel like he was being dragged to hell on Monday for not doing another Spider Man movie first? We will just have to wait till Monday.

Last but not least is Director Yojiro Takita new movie “Departures”. A musician has to take on a new career after his orchestra has left him with nothing. The musician deals with departures of a different kind when he takes on the job of being the person that prepares those for burial.

Up, Drag me to hell, and Departure are this weekends new movies. If you have a chance to get to the movie theater, I hope that you have a great time.
