Mormon inquisition attacks vampires under the new moon
It was bound to happen. With the rising popularity of the Twilight saga and the storyline of New Moon, Mormons have decided to ban the popular book and movie from their shelves and homes.
Why am I not surprised? It seems that several faiths have this love hate relationship with the motion picture industry. Any time a film based of the Illuminati, vampires, witchcraft, or anything that goes against Christianity becomes popular, it’s usually banned by some religious organization. If you remember J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series received the same treatment.
I can understand the reason why they banned the book. It’s a popular novel that is influencing the way that teens are thinking. The Twilight saga promotes the belief of vampires and supernatural creatures. The books also promote the fact that all answers are not cut and dry like they are in the Bible.
If this is truly the reason why Mormon’s are banning Twilight books from their shelves. Then I personally think they have missed the point. Decisions in life are not always black and white. That’s why people pray, to seek inspiration from the God that they believe in.
For the reader that came at me quoting Bible verses like Deuteronomy 18: 10 – 12. “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you.”
You might want to read the whole Bible as it talks about omens, dreams, and such. Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your son and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”
It looks to me that the Holy teachings are trying to say two things at once, so life is never cut and dry. Nor do I expect character decisions in a movie to be the same.
More than likely the ban is probably stemming from the fact that many teens are following the books almost like a cult and instead of spending their time in more productive endeavors.

It is kind of ironic since the author is Mormon.
I’m not sure where you heard that “Mormons have decided to ban the popular book and movie from their shelves and homes”. No church leader has ever announced for us to stay away from it.
I am an active Mormon and have never heard anything about that. My family reads the books, saw the first movie and are planning to see the new movie. Great stuff!
