Put down the deadly glove Freddie..I mean Jackie Haley

The latest horror movie news is that Watchmen star Jackie Haley is going to pick up that deadly glove to play Freddie Krueger in a movie release remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Jackie Haley has a history of playing interesting characters but why get involved in yet another Hollywood remake. Freddie should be dead already right? That character has been ignored, burned alive, sent to hell and back again. Yet, Jackie Haley and the rest of the cast of A Nightmare on Elm Street will begin filming in Chicago late April 2009.
I have to be a little honest that I’m a little insulted. Why? Do you remember the whole body bag scene in the High School hall? That’s the high school that I graduated from. For Wes Craven, Eric Heissere, and Samuel Bayer to do it all over again makes me feel like they are saying the first time around just wasn’t good enough.
Will the story line do well in the movie theaters today? IMDB reports that “The Room” is the hottest horror movie release DVD to date? With the Saw saga continuing will a man that kills you in your dreams be enough of a scare? Will there be enough gore for fans?
I’d love to hear from the readers of Movie Hunger. As someone who grew up on Elm Street and Freddie Krueger horror movie releases are you ready for another one or are you insulted? Do you think that Jackie Haley will be good enough under the scarred special effects makeup?
