DVD rental review: Twilight

movie review twilight
I was finally able to sit down and watch Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart in Twilight. I’m a little upset that I had to wait till it became a DVD rental but am glad that I did. I promise myself that I would have kind words for the Twilight cast before I ripped into it with vampire teeth.

As the beginning of series of books and movies the storyline starts off well. It’s more than two people falling in love. The story touches everything a person needs. Twilight touches on the need of a family, home, love, and protection. While watching my DVD rental, I could see little storylines that could be played out in different ways and I love that in a film.

The Twilight storyline kept me thinking into the future of Edward Cullen and Bella. I don’t know if it was a bad thing or a good thing while watching the DVD rental. Was there going to be a fight between Jacob and Edward because the tension was obvious. Was Edward going to turn Bella into a vampire?

Director Catherine Hardwicke did a great job with the cinematography. The blue overcast of the movie really added to the movie when it was needed. The location of the Twilight set was believable. I just couldn’t see a pack of wolves in human form running around the city. It would be too much like the White Wolf role-playing game, not that it’s too similar already.

Edward and Bella, what should I say about Edward and Bella? I love romantic movies and I love vampire movies but the cast of Twilight really didn’t resonate with me. Other Twilight fans have been talking about the chemistry between Edward and Bella. I personally didn’t see it and thought the flame was as cold as Edward Cullen’s skin.

The role of Bella in the movie release of Twilight came off as a needy and demanding single child. A girl that wants more than what Edward wants to give her.

In all honesty, I couldn’t look at the movie release of Twilight as a full movie. Twilight as a movie release is simply an appetizer to the real story of Bella, Edward, The Cullens, and The Blacks.
