What’s in the cards for Chiklis
What do you do when you’ve been ripped off by a Ponzi? Well if you are Michael Chiklis, you would create a show about it. Back in February, Chiklis and his wife were caught in a Ponzi scheme.
In a Michael Chiklis interview he told the reporter “That was the worst part of it,” he said. “It’s one thing when you lose your own money, but here you lose your friends’ money while your true heart’s hope was to make them money.”
Michael Chiklis worked with FX to create House of Cards. The show is a series about a group planning an elaborate Ponzi scheme and carrying it out.
What exactly is a Ponzi scheme? A Ponzi is a fake investment operation that offers a high return on a low risk factor. Most of the time these scams are used on senior citizens who do not have a lot of money.
I can understand why Chiklis would want something positive to come out of this. People can personally take a fall but to get friends involved just makes it worst.
If FX plays the previews right this could be an interesting series. I say the best stuff comes out of things that happen in real life. No news on when we will see the first television episode.
