The new men of X-Men: Deadpool and Gambit

With the new Wolverine film coming up, Marvel comic book fans are wondering if we will be seeing more mutant abilities in the movies. My question is why did we have to wait for so long. At least the women are wondering.

Rick over at the MTV Splash Page gives fans the news that we may be seeing more of Deadpool and Gambit on the big screen. He was able to sit down with former 20th Century Fox Executive Jeff Katz to get the 411 on the two men who will be playing Deadpool and Gambit.

Sultry and swift talking Gambit was always my favorite. That’s until Wolverine played by Hugh Jackman stepped onto the set. Let’s see if Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Kitsch can steal the scene.

Gambit can I borrow your cards to fan myself with? Oh, someone get me a glass of water. Ryan Reynolds plays Deadpool in the 2009 X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Deadpool once was a man name Jack, who after a stint in the military becomes a selective mercenary. See Jack had some sort of conscience and only killed those he though deserved it.

You’ll have to watch the movie to see what his amazing abilities are. Let’s just say that both men and women alike are not going to be disappointed with Ryan Reynolds as an actor. Slowly wrap your mind around abilities that cold make Deadpool almost immortal.

Ryan has been in several movies and his roles range from comedy to action. His first film was Ordinary Magic in which he played Ganesh. Though I’m sure many of you probably remember him from National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, Blade: Trinity and Chaos Theory.

Ryan Reynolds was suppose to play Deadpool earlier but Blade:Trinity came around and the role was once again put on the back burner. Did you know that this role may have never happened. The Canadian pondered leaving Hollywood forever earlier in his career.

Taylor Kitsch has gone from playing a warlock to a mutant in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Taylor will play mutant Gambit, a man that has total control over kinetic energy and what he slips out of your back pocket.

Fellow Canadian Kitsch first film was Gospel Hill but I’m sure that everyone remembers him from Friday Night Lights. No news yet if he will be returning to a television role or sticking to films in 2009.

What about this on and off again love interest with Rogue? Ooops, sorry boys and girls that won’t happen until we see more of Gambit. That is of course if the executives decide to create a deeper storyline for Gambit.

All in all I can’t wait until I’m able to see the film. It will be interesting to see how all the characters from the comic book tie into each other on the big screen.

Plus with Wolverine being somewhat of a father figure to Rogue, I’m sure there are going to be sparks flying from claws hitting Gambits Bo.

Kick ass. I highly doubt we’ll be seeing Rogue in this, though. Maybe in a future Age of Apocalypse movie? I’m getting too far ahead of myself.

Hopefully Bill and I can’t agree with you more Marc. I hope that the studios dive deeper into these characters backgrounds without making it mushy.
