It must be the water from Australia
With the history of good films, I’ve claim that it must be something in the water that is producing such artistic Actors and Actresses. A person just has to look at those who worked over their material in Australia to see my point.
Hugh Jackman
Hugh Jackman first caught my eye in X-Men. Currently he is staring with fellow Australian Nicole Kidman in a romantic war movie. I can’t wait to see him take on the role of Wolverine again in X-Men Origins.
Hugh Jackman is just a versatile character. Not only can he play a rage intensified troubled soul but then he can turn around and do the voice over for an animated film.
Heath Ledger
This young artistic soul will be missed on the movie screens. At of all the Joker characters on film, I like his portrayal the best. Heath Ledger caught everyone’s eye as William Thatcher in A Knight’s Tale and his career went on from there.
Heath Ledger must have loved what he did because every years since 1997 he was working on a film.
Nicole Kidman
I’m sure that everyone remembers the far and away drama of Tom Cruise. I’m sure she’s far past that now. Does anyone remember BMX Bandits? I so wanted to be like Judy when I was a kid.
I can’t wait to see her role as Lady Sarah Ashley opposite Hugh Jackman in Australia.
Russell Crowe
Though born in New Zealand, Russell Crowe did earn his first role in Australia. Who would have thought that this award-winning actor started out in television? He must have favored law enforcement because he jumped into U.S. Films playing Bud White in L.A. Confidential.
Just like Heath Ledger, he’s had a film role every year since he started.
Last but definitely not least is Mel Gibson. Originally from New York, his family moved to Australia when he was a young child. Mel Gibson started out on stage playing both Oedipus and Henry IV at Sydney’s South Australian Theatre Company.
Of course everyone remembers his role as Mad Max and then Martin Riggs when he started his career in U.S. Films
So once again it must be something in the water from Australia because I would watch these five actors over and over again.
