Michael Crichton passes away at 66
After a long and private battle with Cancer, award-winning Author, Director, and Producer passed away in Los Angeles. John Michael Crichton brought a great many readers and movie fans enjoyment through stories of historical capers to futuristic sci-fi adventures.
Just think back to all the great hits. He directed Twister and Disclosure. He also wrote the source material for Jurassic Park, Lost World, and Congo.
So Sad…………..
Did you know that he had a degree in Anthropology and a M.D. from Harvard Medical School? What an inspiration to writers around the world. Instead of choosing a career in medicine, Michael Crichton chose the Arts.
I know that he is going to be missed by readers around the world. The final post on his website reads:
“While the world knew him as a great storyteller that challenged our preconceived notions about the world around us — and entertained us all while doing so — his wife Sherri, daughter Taylor, family and friends knew Michael Crichton as a devoted husband, loving father and generous friend who inspired each of us to strive to see the wonders of our world through new eyes. He did this with a wry sense of humor that those who were privileged to know him personally will never forget.
“Through his books, Michael Crichton served as an inspiration to students of all ages, challenged scientists in many fields, and illuminated the mysteries of the world in a way we could all understand.
“He will be profoundly missed by those whose lives he touched, but he leaves behind the greatest gifts of a thirst for knowledge, the desire to understand, and the wisdom to use our minds to better our world.
Today I thought the tears were over. First they were for The United States because we are moving onto the future. Now for this great Author and his family.
