movie awards: Did your favorite celebrity get a Razzie?

Published by cmaher under movie news Edit This

This year is the 30th annual Razzie awards. It’s time to tell Hollywood what you really think of them. It’s rumored that this might be the year that Sandra Bullock might gain a Razzie and an Academy Award in the same year.

Some of the movies that are nominated for a Razzie are:
2012
ALIENS IN THE ATTIC
ALL ABOUT STEVE
ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS, THE SQUEAK-QUEL
AMELIA
ANGELS AND DEMONS
BRIDE WARS
C ME DANCE
COUPLES RETREAT
DRAGON BALL EVOLUTION

This is just a small list of Razzie possibilities. I’m a little dishearted that Amelia is on the list. I haven’t seen the movie yet but I was hoping that the history behind it would help produce an interest in the movie. There are so many movies out there about male pilots and we’ll the female pilots need to be represented too.

Quest for that Avatar costume

Published by cmaher under movie news Edit This

In a quest of an Avatar costume, I tried the body paints that I got this weekend. It hasn’t been easy finding the colors that I need for the Avatar costume. The blue body paint that I purchased from my favorite Halloween costume store is just not dark enough.

I have a feeling that I’m going to have to add more black or purple to the darker shade of blue. I wish that I was able to get video of this weekend. I’m sure that you probably would have a great big laugh if you had seen my face. I admit that I looked like a Smurf with some kind of disease.

I can’t get frustrated though. I plan on getting this Avatar costume just right and I’ll just have to keep working on the face make-up.

My next goal is to find the jewelry and clothing for my Halloween costume. I have a feeling that I’m going to have to make the jewelry for the Avatar costume. It’s a great thing that I found pictures of the actual costumes and props from the movie.

Another goal for my Avatar costumes is to get my body in shape. I mean let’s face it. They really didn’t wear a lot of clothing. Since we plan on being in Portland Oregon next Halloween. I will most likely need a skin color body suit to wear. The weather is really cool in October and I don’t want to freeze in my Halloween Avatar costume.

How the French look at Titantic director James Cameron’s Avatar

Published by cmaher under movie news Edit This

I love looking at movie posters from other cities in the world. It’s an interesting look at what is marketable to other people who enjoy the same movies as I do. This is the poster that they used to advertise the movie Avatar.

It’s amazing how Avatar outsold James Cameron’s original movie Titantic. I’m not suprised though because I was in New Zealand when I first watched Titantic. So why wouldn’t Avatar be the same way. I have to admit that all I get these days are DVD rentals but I still can’t wait to watch the film.
